Why Clinton Charter Township matters
Clinton Township sits in the middle of Macomb County and wraps around Mount Clemens, the county seat, on three sides. This is where the three branches of the Clinton River come together before flowing through Harrison Township into Lake St. Clair.
Its history goes back further than most around here. In 1782 the Moravian minister David Zeisberger founded the New Gnadenhuetten mission here for Lenape who had fled Ohio; it was abandoned in 1786. Moravian Drive, the township's oldest road, still recalls those days.
In the 2020 census Clinton Township was Michigan's most populous township. It's home to the open-air Mall at Partridge Creek, the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Macomb Community College's campus, and the county's daily paper, the Macomb Daily.

What Clinton Charter Township is known for
New Gnadenhuetten, a Moravian mission for Lenape refugees from 1782 to 1786, around today's Moravian Road.
