01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
WMU's men's and women's tennis teams play outdoor matches at Sorensen Courts, named for former men's coach Ray "Hap" Sorensen. The upper level has eight blue courts finished in July 2006 and the lower level has 12 finished in July 2007; all of them were resurfaced in summer 2016. The upper courts are lit for night play, with water and power at every court. Sorensen is one of the homes of the USTA Boys 18s and 16s Super Nationals every year, and it hosted the 2017 MAC Men's Tennis Championships. Indoor matches move to West Hills Athletic Club, a member club that's also home to 13 indoor pickleball courts.
