01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The complex sits next to WMU's Business, Technology & Research Park and the College of Engineering campus; it was once called Lee Baker Field, and the teams now call it The Farm. Upgrades have rolled in since 2012: new dugouts and fencing, a paved lot, new entrance and drainage in 2013, and expanded bleachers plus a press box by 2015. In summer 2017 a $75,000 turf project rebuilt the natural grass, along with a new scoreboard and a 40-foot flagpole. Permanent lights, paid for with gifts from soccer alumni, their families and donors, were finished in summer 2026, with the first night games set for Aug. 27, 2026, a women's and men's doubleheader against Colorado and Wisconsin.
