In 2010 Dion Fischer, Aliccia Bollig-Fischer and Matthew Bihun bought the former Hoot Robinson's, a Tiger Stadium-era fans' bar, and in 2014 opened it as UFO Factory, a Corktown dive bar and venue with indie-rock shows, DJ nights, arcade games and the Laika Dog hot-dog kitchen; its pink gender-neutral bathroom became a selfie landmark. In 2017 construction work next door damaged a wall and closed it for about 15 months until a $400,000 insurance-funded rebuild. The founders closed UFO Factory on June 15, 2024, Spot Lite owner Roula David reopened it that summer as UFO Bar with live music and hot dogs, and UFO Bar closed on June 30, 2026, when owners Roula David and Jesse Cory left nightlife.
