Make time for these
The Whiskey Factory is an event venue inside Detroit City Distillery's working production space, just off Gratiot between downtown and Eastern Market. The building is the last survivor of the old Goebel Brewing site; after Stroh's bought Goebel in the 1960s, it turned out Stroh's Ice Cream. Among the aging barrels it holds 250 for a strolling dinner or 190 seated with a band and dance floor. Saturday distillery tours and Thursday-night blend-your-own-bourbon sessions round it out.
