United Artists opened it on October 5, 1990 as the 2,100-seat West River Theatre, on the site of the former Grand River Drive-In. Phoenix Theatres renovated and reopened it in 2003, Cloud Nine Theatre Partners renamed it the Riviera Cinema in 2015, and Emagine had taken over by 2019. Its 12 auditoriums hold 1,159 seats, and the star is the EMX large-format screen with Dolby Atmos. There's a screening room and a theatre bar too, and seating is reserved. Between September 26 and 30, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Resident Evil are among the films playing.
