What’s it like to stay here?
This three-story Victorian mansion was built in 1885 for William Sauber, a chief engineer with the Mitchell shipping line, right on the St. Clair River. It has run as a bed and breakfast since 1991, with seven bedrooms, most with their own balcony or porch, and stained glass throughout. The house was put up for sale in 2022 and no longer appears in the county visitors bureau's lodging list, so we can't say whether it still operates as a B&B.
