Make time for these
The Strand has been showing movies in downtown Caro since the 1920s and was once advertised as the “Wonder Theatre of the Thumb.” After a fire on June 13, 1939 it was remodeled and got the neon marquee that still lights up its intact Art Deco facade. Since the mid-1990s it has added Dolby Digital EX sound, a bigger screen and new seats while keeping its 1930s-40s atmosphere. There's an antique advertising clock in the lobby and first-run films on the one screen of the 397-seat house.
