01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The Milford Agricultural Society started the Oakland County Fair in the 1880s, and it moved here to Davisburg in 1971. The 10-day fair now draws more than 100,000 visitors a year. The showpiece is the 1884 Ellis Barn, a 14,000-square-foot barn with an indoor riding arena and 11 box stalls. Former big-leaguers Kirk Gibson and Tim Birtsas donated it, and it was moved here from Dixie Highway in 2005. The Event Center, Carousel Hall and Grand Hall rent out for banquets, expos and horse events, and the grounds have two outdoor arenas.
