In December 1988 Ron Harrington bought an aging tavern called The Depot Bar and reopened it as a Hi-NRG dance club for the LGBT community, the first gay bar in Michigan north of Grand Rapids. Harrington retired to Florida in 2009, and his business partner and general manager Scott Kenny took over. Expect DJs on weekends and for special events, drag shows, themed nights, karaoke, pool, darts and a patio, plus a daily 5–9pm happy hour that draws locals and tourists alike.
