Sidetrack Bookshop is a loudly LGBTQ-owned independent bookstore in downtown Royal Oak. It has a large queer section and a children's shop called The Caboose, and it's recommended as a trans-friendly bookstore. It's known for its Drag Queen Story Hour, which drew a large, supportive counter-protest in March 2023. It also hosts book clubs and open mics.
