Rustbelt Studios is a recording studio on East 7th Street in downtown Royal Oak, one of several music production businesses that have operated in the building over the years. In 2019 and 2020, Detroit-born shock-rock pioneer Alice Cooper recorded much of his album Detroit Stories here, deliberately assembling a backing band of Michigan musicians, several of them veterans of the same 1960s and 1970s Detroit rock scene Cooper came up in, to give the record a hometown sound. The studio continues to operate today as a commercial recording space in Royal Oak.
