From the early 1970s the Rubaiyat was a disco popular with gay men and lesbians alike in Ann Arbor. It was known for its DJs, drag nights and the annual Miss Ann Arbor drag pageant. It closed in 1986, and the space was converted into a restaurant. The building now houses the LIVE nightclub.
