Make time for these
Nicholas George Theatres opened the four-screen Riverfront 4 inside the brand-new Renaissance Center in 1978. The four auditoriums held 680 seats in all. In September 2008 Uptown Entertainment, operator of the Birmingham 8 and Palladium 12, reopened it after a renovation as the Ren Cen 4. It ran as a family-friendly cinema on level 2 of Tower 200, with free valet parking at first and $8.50 tickets. It closed on June 30, 2015.

Detroit Black Film Festival
Independent films directed, written or produced by Black filmmakers, at a Detroit festival Lazar and Marshalle Favors started in 2020. The 7th edition in September 2026 screens 89 films from 30 countries, with the Charles H. Wright Museum as its hub.
