01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
The Ringwald opened on May 11, 2007, at 9 Mile and Woodward and built its name as Metro Detroit's queer-identified theater company. Its repertoire mixes campy, LGBTQ-forward productions with classic plays and musicals. Since 2021 it has performed inside the Affirmations community center. The fall–winter 2026 lineup includes Equus (Oct. 9–Nov. 2), The Scream Returns (Oct. 28–29) and the campy holiday show Mamma Dearest! Here We Joan Again (Dec. 4–21).
