The Red Dog's liquor license goes back to 1933, when it was Timm's Tavern; it took the Red Dog name in 1972 and moved into its current Summit Street building, with a bigger band stage, in December 1994. Local rock and blues acts fill most Friday and Saturday nights, and over the years it has hosted national names like Leon Russell, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas and Tone-Loc. Weeknights bring trivia-style games and music bingo, and there's an outdoor patio and 18 rotating taps.
