Ferndale's Radio City opened in February 1937 as a 1,000-seat Art Deco neighborhood house, built by Johnson Construction Co. It belonged to the RKO circuit, alongside the RKO Downtown, the former Oriental, and the RKO Uptown. By 1941 the Schulte chain was running it. Suburban Detroit Theatres remodeled it in 1964. It had closed by the early 1970s and has since been demolished.
