Alessandra Carreon and Drew McUsic ran PizzaPlex as a low-profit community business and billed it as Detroit's first certified Neapolitan (VPN) pizzeria. Wednesdays belonged to Haireoke, performance artist Cole Davis's wig karaoke with more than 30 wigs plus bubble and smoke machines. Metro Times put it on its 2019 list of Detroit's best karaoke nights. The owners closed PizzaPlex on February 27, 2023, after about seven years.
