01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Designed by C. Howard Crane, Orchestra Hall opened in 1919. After its early years with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, it became the Paradise Theatre and played an important role in jazz history. Preservation and restoration eventually returned it to the orchestra. Today it is part of the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, where the room itself is an important part of the concert experience.
