The Aquatic Center opened in 1998 as part of Oakland's Recreation and Athletics Center. Two bulkheads split the 50-meter stretch pool so swimming and diving can run at the same time, and meets use eight 25-yard lanes. The pool runs about 9 feet deep at the start end and 6 feet 8 inches at the turn end. The diving well has two 1-meter and two 3-meter boards plus a 5-meter platform. It hosted the 2016 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships.
