Make time for these
The Mother of Divine Mercy parish runs both churches from a single office: Sweetest Heart of Mary near Eastern Market, and St. Josaphat, built in 1900, in the Forest Park neighborhood. St. Josaphat offers both guided and self-guided visits if you arrange it with the parish office in advance. At Sweetest Heart of Mary, the Detroit Historical Society occasionally runs a tour paired with a fish fry as a joint event.

Renaissance Center
No reservation is needed at the GM Renaissance Center: a free, one-hour walk-in tour leaves from the Wintergarden Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., taking in GM World and the OnStar Command Center, and finishing with a glass-elevator ride to the 72nd floor of the Marriott for the view; groups of 10 or more can arrange a private tour with Kim Rusinow.

DIA's own docents lead highlights tours through its collection and Friday-evening tours of Paul Cret's 1927 Beaux-Arts building; groups of 15 or more can arrange a custom tour, priced separately from admission, at grouprequest@dia.org or through the site's application form.
