Opened in 2006, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit focuses on changing exhibitions, artistic encounters, and public programming. Its former auto-dealership building gives contemporary work an industrial setting. Music, talks, and performance join visual art here. Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead adds another connection between personal history, the idea of home, and wider social questions.
