Milano Bakery & Cafe

Family bakery and café in Eastern Market: sandwiches on house-baked bread, pizzas and a big case of sweets.

01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Milano Bakery & Cafe traces its current run to the 1970s, when Dragoslav Janevski bought the old Milano Bakery, then a wholesale operation. The family moved it to Russell Street in Eastern Market in 1999 and added the café about three years later. Sandwiches go on bread baked in-house, and there are soups, salads and pizzas baked to order, plus cakes and pastries for dessert. Three generations of the family now work at the bakery.
