Seven fall weekends in Hollygrove, an Elizabethan village in the woods near Holly: jousting, fire breathers, artisans, a royal feast and a crowd in costume.

01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Step through the gates and you're in Hollygrove, a make-believe English village in the days of Queen Elizabeth I, where everyone from the Queen to the beggars stays in character. The festival started in 1979 near Clarkston and moved to its wooded site outside Holly in 1985; these days around 250,000 people come each season. Full-contact jousts run three times a day, alongside birds of prey, fire breathers, jugglers, street theater and the Feast of Fantasy, a two-hour dinner show. Plenty of guests show up as pirates, Vikings, wizards and fairies, so go ahead and dress up. Every weekend has its own theme, from Pirates & Pups to Viking Invasion to Shamrocks & Shenanigans.
- Full-contact jousting three times a day
- Birds of prey and fire breathers
- 175+ artisans selling handmade goods
- Feast of Fantasy dinner show
