01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Mexicantown Bakery bakes artisan Mexican breads on West Vernor Highway in the middle of Mexicantown, and it's open every day from 6 AM to 9 PM. The cases hold sweet breads, flan, cheesecakes and colorful gelatina mosaico. Its tres leches cake can be customized and ordered online a day ahead, or you can grab one in the shop the same day. Come fall and winter, look for pan de muerto before Día de Muertos and roscas de reyes for Three Kings Day.

  1. Open daily 6 AM–9 PM
  2. Tres leches cakes, orderable online
  3. Flan, cheesecake and gelatina mosaico
  4. Seasonal pan de muerto and roscas de reyes
