Mexican Village Restaurant

Detroit's oldest Mexican restaurant, open since 1957 in Mexicantown: caldo, burritos, homemade desserts and a party room upstairs.

01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Mexican Village has been on Bagley Street since 1957 and bills itself as Detroit's oldest Mexican restaurant, the first to bring Mexican cuisine to the area. Regulars have been coming for decades, and plenty now bring their kids. House specialties include Caldo Can-can, burritos, steaks and homemade desserts. Upstairs, the Hide Away room hosts business cocktail parties and family celebrations, and the kitchen caters too.
