01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

The Mayor Dennis W. Archer Greenway, formerly the Joseph Campau Greenway, was finished by the City of Detroit in early 2021. The 1.2-mile path gives East Side neighborhoods safe, easy access to the Detroit Riverfront, running from Vernor all the way to Jefferson. A pedestrian plaza fills the stretch between Larned and Jefferson, and along the way you'll find benches, outdoor power stations, pickleball courts and playscapes. It's named for Dennis Archer, who became Detroit's mayor in 1994.
