01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

MacArthur Recital Hall is one of the Flint Institute of Music's four stages on the Cultural Center Campus, next to Whiting Auditorium and the Elgood and Bower theatres. The 260-seat hall with its curved ceiling sits inside the J. Dallas Dort Music Center, which also houses FIM's offices and the Flint School of Performing Arts. The FSPA Faculty Concert Series plays here, and FIM rents the room for dance recitals, lectures, community theater, weddings and graduations. The Flint School of Performing Arts took that name in 1986 and is one of the largest community arts schools in the country.
