This 600-seat movie house opened in 1925 in the downriver suburb of Lincoln Park, designed by C. Howard Crane, one of the most prolific theater architects of the era, and remodeled in the Art Moderne style by Charles N. Agree in the early 1940s. Beyond its decades as a neighborhood movie palace, it also hosted live rock shows, and in 1974 singer Derek St. Holmes's band opened a concert here for the Amboy Dukes, the group led by guitarist Ted Nugent; Nugent liked what he heard and soon brought St. Holmes on as his lead vocalist, a partnership that produced hit records like "Stranglehold" later in the decade. Like many neighborhood theaters, the Lincoln Park eventually lost its movie business, switched to adult films in the 1970s, and sat closed for years afterward. In the 2010s developers converted the building, keeping its old marquee-topped front facade while demolishing the auditorium behind it, turning the site into residential lofts known today as Lincoln Park Lofts.
