Liberty Bar was a small, New York–themed gay bar in downtown Pontiac that called itself Oakland County's longest-operating bar and welcomed everyone. It reopened in 2002 after an extensive remodel and was refreshed again around 2019 as Liberty Bar & Poutinerie. It was known for Thursday karaoke, go-go dancers and queer events, and its owner was elected to the Pontiac City Council in 2021. The bar closed sometime between 2024 and May 2026; the exact date isn't known.
