Make time for these
La Jalisciense has been a family-run Mexican restaurant on Vernor Highway since 2014 and has become a Mexicantown fixture. The menu covers tacos, tamales, salsas, antojitos and seafood, and there's a small market on site. Summer brings patio events like a carne asada class, plus collaborations such as one with Detroit City Distillery. In 2025 the family opened a fast-casual spinoff, La Jali, in Taylor, but the Vernor original is the flagship.
