03 / The story of this place
What’s it like to stay here?
It was dedicated on September 17, 1951, as the first of 13 Kellogg Centers in the U.S., built with a $1.4 million W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant. It's still MSU's front door for conferences, with more than 35,000 square feet of event space in 32 rooms for up to 1,200 people. Students from MSU's School of Hospitality Business work alongside the staff, and the State Room restaurant cooks with produce from the student organic farm. In town for a game, a graduation or a campus visit? This is the obvious base.
