03 / The story of this place

What’s it like to stay here?

Amway owns it, its AHC Hospitality company runs it, and it was the first JW Marriott in the Midwest. Each floor is themed on one of Grand Rapids' sister cities (Omihachiman, Bielsko-Biala, Perugia, Ga District and Zapopan), with photos taken there especially for the hotel. Above the 337 rooms sits a rooftop helipad; downstairs there's about 20,000 square feet of meeting space, including the International Ballroom. Marriott named it the brand's best North American hotel for customer service in 2008, 2009 and 2014, which makes it an easy pick for conferences and business trips.
