A jazz festival in Lansing's Old Town district, produced by the Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) each August across several stages.
01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
MICA first produced it in 1995 to spotlight Old Town, and it has presented artists such as TS Monk, Stanley Jordan, Mose Allison and the MSU jazz faculty, drawing close to 5,000 people a year. The 2026 edition expanded to five days featuring Michigan composers, closing with a Sunday gospel festival; Old Town's social district allows drinks on the street.
