01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

It opened in 1960 as Cobo Hall and goes by Huntington Place today. There's 723,000 square feet of exhibit space, 623,000 of it contiguous, which makes it the 16th largest convention center in the country. The 40,000-square-foot Grand Riverview Ballroom looks out on the Detroit River through floor-to-ceiling glass. Add a four-story glass atrium and 98 meeting rooms. More than a million people come through every year, and Legends Global runs the building.
