Make time for these
Hope College's Department of Theatre stages its academic-year season in the DeWitt Student and Cultural Center on 12th Street in Holland. The professional Hope Repertory Theatre uses the same building in summer, so it's a college stage during the school year and a pro stage in summer. The fall 2026 production is Sarah Ruhl's Dead Man's Cell Phone, on October 16. Tickets go through the Hope College ticket office and run from $0 to $15, so you might even get in free.

Hope College's professional summer theatre in Holland, with more than 50 seasons under its belt. From June to August it plays in rotating repertory, so several shows take turns on the stage.

A former dairy barn in Augusta, between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, that grew into one of Michigan's best-known Equity summer stock theatres. 2026 is its 80th season, and after the show the night rolls on at the Rehearsal Shed bar.

Circle Theatre
Grand Rapids' summer community theatre since 1953. It started in a hotel room, then played a park pavilion that housed the zoo's monkeys in winter. Today it's at Aquinas College's Performing Arts Center.
