This West Side bar opened in 1980 as the Hayloft Saloon, changed hands in 1996 and again in 2018, and was rebranded as HALO in 2024. It is a laid-back neighborhood spot with pool, darts, board games, a heated garden patio and karaoke that Metro Times readers voted Best Karaoke Night in 2025. The crowd leans toward gay men over 30 and bears, but everyone is welcome. It also hosts the monthly BLUF Detroit leather and uniform social, a cigar and pipe social, and body-positive events.
