01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

The mill sits next to Baldwin Elementary School on Orion Road at Hilltop Road, in the heart of Oakland Township. The star is the Pistachio Nut Bread: hundreds of loaves sell every fall, and people drive a long way for it. There's Pumpkin Nut Bread too, both in mini loaves, plus pies, jams, caramel apples, handmade caramel, honey and old-fashioned candy. On September and October Sundays, there's live music in the big tent, and balloon artist John Winslow twists free creations for kids from 1 to 4 p.m.
