Golden Fleece
Greektown's longest-running restaurant, family-run since 1970: flaming saganaki, gyros and classic Greek plates on Monroe Street.
01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Brothers Niko and Vasili Dionysopoulos, who had been selling produce to Greek churches and Greektown businesses, took over the Golden Fleece on April 8, 1970. It's been in the family ever since, now run by their sons Yanni and Spero, and they bill it as Greektown's longest-running restaurant. Expect flaming saganaki, loukaniko sausage, pitas and grilled Greek classics. It stays open until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, which makes it a natural stop after a game or a show.
