01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Glass Academy has been a working glass studio in Dearborn since 2004, run by artists Chris Nordin and Michelle Plucinsky and their team. In the 14,000-square-foot hot shop you can watch molten glass turn into pumpkins, drinkware and ornaments, or sign up for a class and make your own piece. In May 2025 it opened The Michigan Room, a lounge and bar where you can sip something while the glassblowers work. Every fall it hosts the Glass Pumpkin Fest, which hit its 17th year in 2025 with free admission.
