Make time for these
Since 1920 the Gaelic League has been Detroit's home base for Irish music, dance and language. Thursdays bring set dancing with Anne McCallum ($10, beginners welcome), Friday is Kitty's Ceili for beginner ceili dancers, Irish and folk bands play Friday and Saturday evenings, and the Sunday Detroit Irish Music Association sessions are open to players and listeners alike. There are also Irish language classes, a monthly pub quiz, concerts by visiting bands like Blackthorn, and the club's Sunday Detroit Irish Radio broadcast.
