In 1928 the Rouge was the largest integrated factory in the world: 93 buildings, 100 miles of railroad track inside and 103,000 workers in 1929. Fordson tractors, the Model A, the first V-8 Ford and the Mustang all came out of here, and Diego Rivera painted it in the Detroit Industry murals at the DIA. The tour has five parts: the Legacy Theater, the Manufacturing Innovation Theater, an observation deck about 81 feet up, the 10.4-acre living roof Guinness named the world's largest in 2004, and the plant walk above F-150 final assembly. Photos are allowed only in the Legacy Gallery, not in the theaters, on the deck or inside the plant.
