The Esquire opened in Lansing in 1994 and is known as the city's longest-running gay bar — a low-key neighborhood lounge with a largely older, local crowd. Regulars mention cheap drinks, pool, keno, karaoke and bingo nights, plus the bar's holiday decorations. After the Spiral closed in 2020, it was counted among the few dedicated LGBTQ+ bars left in Greater Lansing. We found no official website or recent dated post, so we could not confirm that it is currently operating.
