The makers of Pontiac's Erebus Haunted Attraction also build escape rooms, but on purpose they're not scary: the motto is “fun without fear.” Three rooms for grown-ups plus two beginner family rooms for kids 4–14.

Make time for these
The adult lineup is LockDown, a prison break; Body of Evidence, a murder mystery at a funeral parlor; and Eye of Horus, set in an Egyptian tomb. Dragon's Curse and Once Upon a Time are beginner family rooms made for kids ages 4 to 14. Every game is private, runs 60 minutes and takes 4 to 10 players. The haunted house may be nearby, but nobody's jumping out of the dark here.
