What’s it like to stay here?
The El Moore is an 1898 apartment building at Second Avenue and West Alexandrine that became a boarding house in the Depression and stood abandoned by the 2000s. The Green Garage bought it in 2010 and rebuilt it as a model of sustainable design; today 12 apartments, a public native-plant garden and this 11-room lodge, open since 2016, share the building. Four rooftop “urban cabins” come with kitchenettes and balconies, and there are Parkview rooms, garden-level rooms and a suite with a full kitchen. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are included, and the whole property is non-smoking.
