Detroit Dance Collective was founded in 1980 by four Wayne State University dance graduates: Sue Ellen Dar, Paula Kramer, Barbara Selinger and Anita Surma. Under artistic director Barbara Selinger, the company creates work alongside visual artists, poets, photographers and musicians, and it has toured schools and communities all over Michigan. The 47th season brings three concerts to the Marlene Boll Theatre inside the downtown Boll Family YMCA: fall on November 14, 2026, winter on February 13, 2027 and spring on May 15, 2027. Off the stage it runs school residencies and open company classes.
