Detroit Auto Show
Every January the Motor City's own auto show fills Huntington Place with new cars, trucks and EVs, kicked off by a black-tie Charity Preview.

01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Detroit put on an auto show as early as 1907, at Beller's Beer Garden, just as the car business was taking off here. The Detroit Auto Dealers Association runs it, and since 1965 it has filled Cobo Center, now Huntington Place, on the riverfront. It went global as the North American International Auto Show in 1989, sat out 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic, spent a few years in September, and came back to January in 2025 under its old name. The night before the public days, the Charity Preview turns the show floor into a formal party that has raised more than $100 million for kids' charities in Southeast Michigan over the past 25 years.
