01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

The Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research launched in 2012 to pull together Cranbrook's art, architecture, landscape, design and history and make it accessible to everyone. It runs the Cranbrook Archives, complete with a digital image database, and leads tours of the campus, Saarinen House, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Smith House, Cranbrook House and the Japanese Garden. The campus has been a National Historic Landmark since 1989, filled with work by Albert Kahn and Eliel Saarinen.
