City Bird

A West Canfield gift shop packed with its own Detroit- and Michigan-themed goods, 500+ cards and work by 200+ regional makers.

01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Siblings Andy and Emily Linn, seventh-generation Detroiters, started City Bird in 2005 to mix their love of design with their love of the city. Their shop opened in the Cass Corridor in 2009 and is now the oldest store on West Canfield. It stocks work from more than 200 Great Lakes artists and makers, a house line of Detroit- and Michigan-themed goods made in a Detroit studio, and a card wall of 500-plus designs, many screen printed or letterpress. Since 2011, sister shop Nest next door handles home goods and plants.
