03 / The story of this place
What’s it like to stay here?
The Chippewa sits on Main Street between Haldimand Bay and Fort Mackinac, right next to the Mackinac Island Marina, with more than 120 years of hospitality behind it. It's best known for the Pink Pony, one of the island's liveliest bars, with patio seating on the harbor and live music. Rooms run from Main Street rooms to harbor-view suites with balconies, and no two are decorated exactly alike. Out on the waterfront sun deck there's a 25-person jetted hot tub.
